Managing Companies

If you operate multiple restaurant locations, manage and switch between them in the Companies section.

What Are Companies?

In Bestellfix, each restaurant location is considered a separate “company”. This allows:
  • Separate inventory for each location
  • Location-specific vendors
  • Independent ordering per location
  • Distinct settings per restaurant

Viewing Your Companies

To view all your restaurant locations:
  1. Go to SettingsCompanies
  2. View a list of all restaurant locations you have access to
  3. Each company shows:
    • Company name
    • Location identifier
    • Current status

Switching Between Locations

To switch to a different restaurant location:
  1. Go to SettingsCompanies
  2. Click on the restaurant location you want to switch to
  3. The system switches context to that location
After switching, you’ll see:
  • That location’s dashboard
  • That location’s vendors
  • That location’s inventory
  • That location’s orders
All data is now specific to the selected location.

Understanding Location Context

Each restaurant location has its own:
  • Vendors: Different suppliers per location
  • Products: Each location may have different catalogs
  • Inventory: Separate ingredients and recipes
  • Storage Units: Location-specific storage
  • Orders: Independent order history
  • Delivery Locations: Location-specific addresses

Multi-Location Benefits

Separation of Data

  • Each location operates independently
  • No mixing of inventory between locations
  • Clear reporting per location

Centralized Access

  • Manage all locations from one account
  • Switch between locations easily
  • Maintain separate operational data

Location-Specific Vendors

  • Each location can have different suppliers

New locations must be set up by Bestellfix administration.

Best Practices

Clear Naming

  • Use descriptive location names
  • Include city or neighborhood: “Main Street - Boston”, “Downtown - Chicago”
  • Avoid generic names

Consistent Management

  • Check each location regularly
  • Maintain similar processes across locations
  • Document location-specific procedures

Data Separation

  • Keep location data separate
  • Don’t mix inventory between locations
  • Order for each location independently

Regular Switching

  • Review all locations daily (if managing multiple)
  • Don’t neglect any location
  • Set up a routine for checking each location

Troubleshooting

Cannot See All Locations

  • Verify you have access to all locations
  • Check with account administrator
  • Ensure you’re logged into correct account
  • Contact support if locations are missing

Wrong Location Active

  • Check which company is currently selected
  • Switch to the correct location
  • Verify in settings or location indicator

Data Appearing in Wrong Location

  • Confirm you’re viewing the correct company
  • Check location context at top of screen
  • Switch to proper location before working

Cannot Switch Locations

  • Verify you have permissions for multiple locations
  • Check internet connection
  • Try logging out and back in
  • Contact support if issue persists

Location Indicator

Most pages show which location you’re currently managing:
  • Look for company name in header
  • Location indicator in settings
  • Context switcher accessible from many pages
Always verify you’re in the correct location before placing orders or making changes.

Tips for Multi-Location Success

  • Establish routine: Check locations in same order daily
  • Use location names: Always verify which location you’re managing
  • Separate operations: Don’t try to combine location data
  • Train staff per location: Each location may have unique vendors
  • Document differences: Note location-specific processes
  • Regular audits: Review all locations for consistency and accuracy

Permissions

Different users may have access to different locations:
  • Owner: Access to all locations
  • Manager: May be limited to specific locations
  • Staff: Typically one location only
Check with your account administrator about location access.

Reporting Across Locations

While data is separated by location:
  • You can manually compile reports across locations
  • Export data from each location
  • Combine in external tools (spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Some reporting may aggregate across locations (depending on system features)
